| Delve Darwin station is a steel dragonfly circling Jupiter’s largest moon. Inside we meet LOFGREN STENZ as he prepares to delve, strapping himself onto a throne of hypodermic needles and dangling electrodes. Separated from the delving chamber by clear glass, twenty-two newborn babes are cradled in berths that resemble techno-industrial cribs. Behind them, a massive incubation chamber, MOTHER, winds down with a satisfied HUM. |

Hours
It’s a cold early morning in the rugged mountains of Afghanistan. It’s also a year after the 9/11 attacks by al Qaeda in the United States changed the world forever. Two American CH-47 Chinook helicopters touch down in the Shahi Kot Valley, also referred to as “Hell’s Half-Pipe” by American soldiers. Ramps drop from the choppers and eighty troopers from the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division disembark and prepare to deploy. ‘Operation Anaconda,’ is underway. |
